Slovenian Rectors' Conference at a glance

The Slovenian Rectors' Conference is a body entitled to represent universities and to protect their interests. It may deliver an opinion on any issue with relevance to the operation of the higher education system and make proposals for decision-makers or those in charge of preparing decisions. The association was formed in the year 2005. It's activity is supported by the Secretariat.

National cooperation

The Slovenian Rectors' Conference is entitled to pursue the following activities, in particular:

  • to promote co-operation between the universities and the Government;
  • to conduct research, to compile documentation, to elaborate and present proposals to the Government or the bodies of the Government;
  • to establish and maintain international contacts for supporting the internationalization of Slovenian Higher Education;

International cooperation

The Slovenian Rectors Conference is actively involved in projects of the European Commission and the European Universities Association (EUA):

  • EUA European Platform of universities engaged in the Energy/Energy Technology Research;
  • Multi-dimensional Global University Ranking project;
  • Human Resources Strategy Forum Project (the process of implementation of The European Charter for Researchers and The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers);
  • EUA Research policy Working Group (RPWG);
  • Survey on New Knowledge Transfer Policies 2009.

In 2008 The Slovenian Rectors' Conference signed the Declaration of Commitment by Slovenian Universities on the Adoption of the European Charter for Researchers and on Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. By signing the Declaration universities members declare their engagement in implementing the values, principles and overall measures as stated in the European Charter for Researchers and The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, adopted by the The Commission of the European Communities in 2005.

The organization is a full member of the European University Association (EUA).

Koper, 3. november 2017 – Na današnji 9. redni seji Rektorske konference Republike Slovenije so člani sprejeli pomembne sklepe, ki se navezujejo na zagotovitev avtonomije in financiranja slovenskih univerz. Tako so se, med drugim, soglasno strinjali, da je potrebno osnutek Zakona o raziskovalni in razvojni dejavnosti, ki je bil v začetku tega tedna objavljen in podan v javno obravnavo, dopolniti in v nekaterih členih spremeniti, saj, po besedah članov delovne skupine, ne vsebuje usklajenih stališč RK RS in Sveta za znanost in tehnologijo.  Predlog omenjenega zakona sta na seji predstavila predstavnika Ministrstva ta izobraževanje, znanost in šport, vodja Sektorja za znanost, dr. Meta Dobnikar in generalni direktor Direktorata za visoko šolstvo, dr. Stojan Sorčan.

Koper, 11. julij 2017 – Na 8. redni seji Rektorske konference Republike Slovenije, ki je potekala na sedežu predsedujoče Univerze na Primorskem, so člani obravnavali in sprejeli več sklepov, pri čemer izpostavljamo najpomembnejše.

Koper, 8. maj 2017 – Na današnji sedmi seji so člani Rektorske konference gostili ugledna ustavna pravnika, prof. dr. Boštjana M. Zupančiča in prof. dr. Cirila Ribičiča, ki sta prisotnim predstavila vprašanje avtonomije univerze in predloge za nadaljnje korake pri ureditvi slednjega. Ustava Republike Slovenije namreč v svojem 58. in 59. členu nedvoumno določa pojem avtonomije univerze, ki pa se ne sklada z izvajanjem veljavne zakonodaje.
